Charges Related To Employee Fatality

July 13, 2010

Late yesterday, Finning learned that it has been charged under the Alberta Occupational Health and Safety Act in relation to the July 8, 2008 fatality of mechanic Kevin Grocutt, who was killed during a heavy equipment towing operation on our customer’s (Suncor) site.

As the matter is now the subject of legal proceedings, we cannot comment on investigation details or the specific incident at this time.

This is truly a tragic incident - one that will forever impact Kevin’s family, all those who worked alongside him in the oil sands and our company as a whole.

At Finning, safety is a core value that influences everything we do. We remain committed to achieving and sustaining health and safety excellence in all of our business operations.
