Finning’s online parts ordering system, PartStore, recently received a Caterpillar award for #1 PartStore Dealer for 2009.

eBusiness Product Manager Trevor Tetzlaff says since it was launched in 2002, PartStore never stopped growing. “There are more dollars, more orders, and more customers than when the economy was booming,” he said.

Every month, there are more than 10,000 PartStore orders. Trevor says the number is a good indicator that Finning customers are realizing the benefit of Internet shopping—when a customer knows what they want, they can go online and see the part’s availability, with up-to-date pricing information.

Registration with PartStore gives Finning customers a free version of the Service Information System (SIS) parts books and the ability to view their equipment fleet by their own unit numbers without having to recall a serial number.

Despite the convenience factor of online ordering, Trevor makes it a point to emphasize that it’s not going to replace human interaction. “Finning’s partspeople are a very important part of our customer service,” he says. “This is another offering making it easier and more efficient for customers to do business with Finning.”
