These are a few of the technology products that we offer:
- MineStar® is an integrated mining information system that features machine health, productivity, machine and material tracking, drill management, CAES and an advanced truck assignment program. Finning Mining Services is your first line of product support for the MineStar® system offering installation, training, upgrades, technical and troubleshooting support.
- Caterpillar's Vital Information Management System (VIMS) provides operators, service personnel and managers information on a wide range of vital machine functions. Numerous sensors are integrated into the vehicle design. If VIMS detects an impeding or abnormal condition in any of the machine's systems, it will alert the operator and instruct them to take appropriate action, whether it's modifying machine operation, notifying the shop of needed maintenance, or performing a safe shutdown of the machine.
- Caterpillar's VIMSwireless is a technology that allows the customer to transfer VIMS data through a wireless link between the truck and the office, and analyze that data on an individual or fleet-wide basis. The system uses a wireless radio network to transmit important payload and event information from the truck to the office. Production data, such as payload and cycle times, and machine health data are stored in a database which can be accessed by office personnel at any time. VIMSwireless provides customers with the knowledge necessary to make decisions critical to the productivity of their operation, and helps lower their cost per ton.
- Caterpillar's Computer Aided Earthmoving System (CAES) is a tool that integrates planning and design operations to give you a real solution for reducing costs. CAES uses on-board computers, software, GPS, and data radios and receivers to replace the manpower-and time-intensive processes associated with conventional surveying.
- CAESbasic provides the power of CAES on-board computing without the wireless link or office software portion of CAES. Design files can be created in the office and loaded onto the display using a PC card or the operator can generate their own level or sloping plane designs to follow. CAESbasic can be used for grade control of benches, roads, leach pad and dump areas.
